Competitor Discovery Is Now Free in Seeto
AI-powered competitor discovery is no longer a Pro feature — it is available on every plan, starting today.
Auto-detect competitors is now free for all Seeto users. Free tier gets 2 competitors, Standard gets 5, Pro gets 15. Here is what changed and why.
Starting today, AI-powered competitor discovery is available on every Seeto plan — including the free tier. If you previously saw an "Upgrade to Pro" lock on the Auto-detect competitors toggle, that lock is gone.
This is a meaningful change to how Seeto works and why we made it is worth explaining directly.
What changed
The Auto-detect competitors toggle now appears and works for every user, regardless of plan. When you create a new analysis, Seeto will automatically surface competitor URLs from your domain using semantic similarity, keyword overlap, and market positioning signals — without requiring you to supply the URLs manually.
Per-tier caps apply to how many competitors are discovered and analyzed per run:
| Plan | Auto-detected competitors |
|---|---|
| Free | Up to 2 |
| Standard | Up to 5 |
| Pro | Up to 15 |
The caps reflect what each tier's analysis quota can support. The discovery mechanism itself — and the ability to use it — is now unlocked for everyone.
Why we made this change
Discovery is not our moat. The ability to find competitor URLs is useful, but it is not the part of Seeto that produces lasting value. What produces lasting value is the structured analysis that runs on those URLs: the feature comparison, the pricing architecture breakdown, the SEO positioning snapshot, the messaging tone analysis.
Locking discovery behind a Pro plan created friction at exactly the wrong moment — the first time a new user tried to run an analysis and did not have a list of competitor URLs ready. Instead of experiencing the value of Seeto's analysis, they hit a paywall before the interesting part even started.
Discovery is the entry point, not the product. Making it free means more users reach the analysis that Seeto is actually built for.
What you can do today
If you have not tried Seeto yet:
- Visit seeto.ai and create a free account
- Click New analysis
- Enter your product's URL
- Toggle Auto-detect competitors — the system will surface your competitive landscape automatically
- Run the analysis and receive a full structured report in approximately five minutes
If you are already on Seeto, the toggle is live in your account now. No plan change required.
What the analysis produces
Once competitor URLs are discovered, Seeto runs a full structured analysis covering:
- Feature comparison — what each competitor offers versus your product
- Pricing architecture — plan names, limits, and feature gates
- SEO positioning — keyword footprint, traffic signals, content angle
- Messaging and positioning — tone, target buyer framing, key claims
- Competitive score — a benchmark of your product against each competitor
The combination of discovery and analysis is what removes the manual research cycle that most teams are still running. If you want to understand how AI competitor discovery works under the hood before running your first analysis, the technical primer on AI competitor discovery covers the mechanisms in plain language.
What stays the same on paid plans
Unlocking discovery for free users does not flatten the difference between plans. The per-tier caps are real constraints, and the analysis depth scales with plan level.
Free tier users get two auto-detected competitors per analysis — enough to understand your immediate competitive environment and get a structured comparison without manual URL lookup. It is a genuine starting point, not a teaser.
Standard tier at $29/month raises the cap to five competitors, which covers most early-stage and growth-stage competitive sets. Combined with ten analyses per month, it supports a regular quarterly review cadence across a meaningful competitor list.
Pro tier at $79/month supports up to fifteen auto-detected competitors per analysis. For companies operating in fragmented markets — where meaningful competitive coverage requires tracking a dozen or more products — the Pro tier is the right fit. Pro also includes scheduled analyses, which means the competitive picture updates automatically without requiring a manual trigger.
The analysis that runs on discovered competitors is identical across tiers within the cap limit: feature extraction, pricing documentation, SEO snapshot, positioning and messaging analysis, and a competitive score. The quality of the output does not degrade on lower plans — the scope does.
